Welcome to the Baltimore Laborers Training Center website!
The Baltimore Laborers Training Center (BLTC) provides construction industry vocational training through a full range of classes and an apprenticeship program at its facility. A well-trained workforce is the backbone of both the construction industry and our state. BLTC is committed to offering the very best training so our members can do the very best job making Baltimore the best it can be.
The BLTC offers an apprenticeship program and training classes to its participating union members who need to maintain their certifications, develop their skills, and stay abreast of new trends and technologies. The BLTC strives to ensure safety and productivity among construction laborers, through curricular offerings that cover every aspect of construction laborer training.
BLTC provides training in construction skills, environmental issues, and safety procedures. Class size is small enough to ensure that students receive plenty of personalized instruction, and hands-on training. Courses at the BLTC are available year-round; however, training programs gain momentum during the off season, November through April, when construction projects slow down. Attire must be appropriate. No shorts or sandals. Work boots are required when working in training bays. Hard hats and safety glasses are provided to all students.
The BLTC is associated with the Laborers International Union of North America (LIUNA). A board of trustees provides oversight to the BLTC with equal management and local representation.
